​After she left the safe house Rylee fled to when Elly worked with Evie to track the woman the superhero didn't want to leave her life, Elly climbed onto her motorcycle. She pulled the machine into the parking garage under her apartment before she stood to gaze at the other cars and motorcycles she purchased with the funds the scientists paid her. Having gained the wealth Elly did when she became the superhero of Ellyville wasn't something she expected to happen, but the money changed everything.

​It allowed her to work at the family diner without worrying about if she had enough income to pay her bills. Plus, having the money allowed her to take the classes she wanted at the local community college.

​Elly stepped away from where she stood next to her Ninja, making her way towards the elevator and riding it to the top floor of the apartment. Standing outside her door, Elly waited for Evie to turn the electronic locks from red to green, allowing Elly to step inside.

​“Evie?” The superhero heard the annoyance creeping into her voice the longer the artificial intelligence made Elly stand outside her apartment.

​“Yes, Ellison?”

​“Are you going to let me in?”

​“I don't know. I might if you know why I'm upset with you.”

​“Let me guess. It's because I should have contacted you about staying at Rylee's. Plus, I've neglected to keep you informed about the plan the sisters and I worked out with each other.”

​“You are correct. However, you're missing the most important reason.”

​Elly stared at the camera Evie used to watch her and assist the artificial intelligence in taking care of Elly's needs and to keep the protector of Ellyville safe.

​“Am I? Let me see. I bet it has something to do with what's scheduled tomorrow.”

​“You're not wrong.”

​Elly smiled. If she was a computer program who waited for the scientists to finish creating an android for her, Elly thought she would feel a range of emotions. “I'm sorry, okay? Please, let me in. You know I don't enjoy having an argument with you while I'm standing alone in the hallway.”

​“Fine.”

​Before Evie changed her mind, Elly pushed open the heavy door designed to keep anyone from breaking into her apartment and stepped inside. She heard Evie engage the security features once the door closed behind her. However, Elly didn't stop moving towards the sofa she wanted once she relaxed. Settling into a comfortable position, Elly rested her head against the sofa.

​“I'm sorry, okay? I know I've said this once already, but it's the truth.”

​“I accept your apology, Ellison. If you never treat me this way again.”

​Elly sighed as she closed her eyes. “I'll do my best.”

​“Good. Now, tell me about the plan you worked out with Rylee and Skylar.”

​Keeping herself on the sofa, Elly explained what Evie wanted and answered the probing questions the artificial intelligence asked when Evie wanted to learn everything about the situation involving the assassin. Evie also wanted to learn what she needed to know about how her
